FM Saidov receives Afghanistan’s new ambassador to Uzbekistan
On October 9, 2024, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Abdul Ghaffar Bahr, the newly appointed head of Afghanistan's diplomatic mission in Tashkent. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new projects aimed at benefiting both nations.
During the discussions, both parties emphasized the need to develop Uzbekistan-Afghanistan relations further comprehensively, highlighting the untapped potential that could be harnessed through joint initiatives. The projects discussed are expected to serve the interests of the people of both countries.
Expressing his gratitude, the ambassador conveyed Afghanistan’s appreciation for Uzbekistan’s consistent support and assistance. "The shared history and mutual desire for prosperity between our nations continue to drive cooperation in all fields," the diplomat said during the meeting.
In a statement on his official Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Saidov noted, "Today’s discussions covered key bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual concern. Our collaborative efforts are essential for furthering the partnership between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan."
Abdul Ghaffar Bahr was officially announced as Afghanistan's new ambassador to Uzbekistan in late August 2024.
