Dilnoza Kattakhonova becomes Deputy Prime Minister and head of Women's Committee
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has appointed Dilnoza Kattakhonova as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Family and Women's Committee of Uzbekistan.
Kattakhonova replaces Zulaykho Mahkamova, who has been relieved of her duties in connection with a transfer to another position. Mahkamova had led the committee since March 2022.
Before her appointment, Kattakhonova served as First Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency. She has now been relieved of that position.
Born on July 2, 1991, in Kokand, Kattakhonova earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. She holds a PhD in political science and has also studied in the master's program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Throughout her career, Kattakhonova has held positions in the Kamolot Youth Movement, the Women's Committee of Uzbekistan and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. She also headed the Kamalak children's organization.
She was appointed Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency in July 2020 and promoted to First Deputy Director in December 2023.
Kattakhonova is a recipient of the Zulfiya State Prize, the Dustlik Order, and the People's Friendship and Excellence in Physical Education and Sports badges.
