Uzbekistan plans to send over 200,000 citizens to work in economically developed countries next year

Prime Minister Aripov presented a comprehensive action plan outlining both short- and long-term goals for the Cabinet of Ministers prior to his reappointment. The proposed measures align with the broader "Uzbekistan-2030" development strategy, which includes implementing 400 initiatives across 10 priority areas by the end of the decade.

Among these initiatives, the government aims to systematize labor migration and expand social support for Uzbek migrant workers. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has tasked the government with ensuring the employment of citizens in high-wage countries and enhancing their social protection abroad.

In 2025 alone, the government plans to secure jobs for more than 200,000 Uzbeks in 21 economically advanced nations, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Israel, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. This marks a significant step toward increasing employment opportunities for Uzbekistan’s workforce.

“Efforts will be intensified to create favorable conditions for citizens seeking employment abroad. This includes providing training in professional skills and foreign languages,” stated the Prime Minister. The government also intends to continue developing these efforts in subsequent years, ensuring long-term benefits for migrant workers and their families.
