UAE companies to help boost energy and infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan
On January 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a series of meetings in Abu Dhabi with high-ranking officials and leaders of major UAE companies, according to the presidential press service.

The discussions began with Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment and CEO of ADQ. Executives from AD Ports, DUCAB, Plenary Group, and Tadweer also participated, focusing on expediting joint investment projects.
These initiatives include:
• Rare earth metal extraction.
• Development of railways and dry ports.
• Production of cable products.
• Public-private partnership (PPP) projects in education and healthcare.
Steps were outlined to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, urban development, energy, transport, logistics, and electrical engineering. The introduction of innovative technologies across various sectors was also highlighted.
President Mirziyoyev also met with UAE Energy Minister Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei and executives from Masdar, TAQA, and Etihad Water & Electricity to discuss the development of green energy and water supply improvements.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of five joint energy projects valued at $1.5 billion. In December, the first phase of Masdar’s wind farm in the Navoi region became operational, with other projects still under construction.
The president endorsed plans for:
• Modernizing thermal power plants and electricity grids.
• Accelerating the construction of hydropower, solar, and wind power plants, as well as battery storage systems.
• Developing water pipelines and treatment facilities.
Later, Mirziyoyev met with leaders of Amea Power, healthcare company M42, and the IFFCO Group. Discussions revolved around joint projects in energy, healthcare, and the food industry.
Key highlights include:
• Amea Power’s wind energy and petrochemical projects.
• Potential collaboration with M42 in genomic research.
• Partnering with IFFCO to manufacture food industry ingredients and household chemicals.
