Energy Minister announces discount tariffs for electrified homes
Prezident Mirziyoyev has instructed to introduce discount tariffs for electrified homes that are not connected to natural gas, announced Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, following a meeting with the president. This comes after it was previously reported that newly built multi-story buildings would not be connected to natural gas.

"With the increase in electricity consumption, mechanisms for providing preferential tariffs for the population, electric transport, and other areas, especially for electrified homes, were instructed," the minister said in an interview with the "Uzbekiston 24" TV channel.
According to him, special attention will be given to using local products in construction and energy projects. An Energy Institute will be established under the Ministry of Energy.
“A project program will be submitted in the short term for all the instructions,” said Mirzamakhmudov.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that from this year, newly built multi-story buildings will not be connected to the natural gas network.
It is worth noting that in an interview in October 2024, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov mentioned a 50% discount on electricity for homes in areas not supplied with natural gas, with this arrangement expected to take effect from January 1. However, this did not happen.
