It was revealed that N.J., born in 1957, initially arrived in Dubai in 1996 for seasonal work, taking various jobs in trade stalls. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he remained in the UAE illegally from 2001 until 2025.
As an immediate measure, the Consulate General provided him with consular and legal assistance, as well as temporary accommodation and food.
Investigations revealed that during his period of illegal residency, he had accumulated a total debt of 901,600 AED (approximately $247,013), preventing him from legally leaving the UAE.
Through negotiations with UAE law enforcement and relevant authorities, Consulate General officials successfully secured a full waiver of N.J.'s outstanding debts, resolving the legal barriers to his departure.
On February 15, with the support of the Consulate General and the "Center for Assistance to Women and Children" charitable organization, N.J. was provided with a Dubai–Tashkent flight ticket and safely repatriated to Uzbekistan.
