Uzbekistan sees surge in foreign visitors, including nearly 9,000 for medical treatment

According to the National Statistics Committee, 678,700 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in January 2025.

This figure represents an increase of 158,500 visitors (30.5%) compared to the same period last year.

In January 2025, the purposes of visits by foreign citizens to Uzbekistan were as follows:

•  Visiting relatives – 461,277 people
•  Business trips – 88,336 people
•  Tourism – 75,392 people
•  Trade and commerce – 41,196 people
•  Medical treatment – 8,966 people
•  Education – 3,508 people
