Citizen of Uzbekistan fined in Almaty airport for bomb joke
An 18-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan was fined nearly 79,000 tenge (UZS 1.8 million) after joking at Almaty airport that he had an “atomic bomb” in his luggage.

The incident occurred on 2 September, when the young man made the remark while checking in, causing “a disturbance of public order and alarm among passengers.” As a result, he was fined 78,640 tenge (UZS 1.8 million).
According to Kazakhstan’s Transport Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of the year, 900 passengers have been removed from trains and airplanes for various violations – 489 from trains and 411 from aircraft. Most of the incidents were linked to alcohol consumption, intoxication, smoking in train cars, or minor hooliganism.
Earlier, in Tashkent, a 19-year-old woman was sentenced to five days in jail after joking in the metro that she had a bomb in her bag.
