Uzbekistan issues safety advisory for its citizens in Istanbul amid ongoing protests
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has urged Uzbek nationals to exercise caution and avoid protest areas in the city as demonstrations continue and Turkish authorities impose heightened security measures.
As a security measure, the Turkish authorities have announced that:
• Until September 11, all public events are temporarily banned in six districts, including Beşiktaş, where the Consulate General of Uzbekistan is located;
• Restrictions are in place on the use of foreign messaging applications.
Uzbek citizens are advised to:
• avoid crowded areas;
• stay away from places where demonstrations are being held;
• strictly follow local regulations.
