Uzbekistan and Russia deepen ties in economy, healthcare, and culture

On September 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Russian delegation led by the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.
According to the presidential press service, the talks centered on advancing joint projects in economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, with particular emphasis on collaboration with St. Petersburg.
As part of the partnership, preparations are under way to open a Business Center in Tashkent and to develop the “St. Petersburg quarter” in New Tashkent. During the visit, the sides also endorsed a roadmap outlining 23 joint projects in metallurgy, engineering, road construction, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food production, agriculture, and logistics, among other areas.

The sides voiced support for closer cooperation in private healthcare, education, public utilities, digital technologies, migration, and tourism. Humanitarian ties remain a priority, with plans to continue regular cultural exchanges and joint events.
In addition, Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to coordinate efforts for the effective organization of the second meeting of the Council of Regions, scheduled to take place in October.
