Uzbekistan establishes framework for managing state defense orders
A new law has been adopted in Uzbekistan to regulate the process of forming and executing the state defense order, which defines the key objectives of ensuring timely and reliable supply of the Armed Forces with military and dual-use products.
The Law “On the State Defense Order” establishes the legal framework governing relations in this field.
According to the document, the state defense order refers to a government order for the procurement of military and dual-use products, approved by the State Commission on Armament of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main objectives of the state defense order include:
• developing, approving, and executing the state defense order based on the national interests of the country, the global and regional military-political environment, the level of national security threats in the military sphere, and the nature of modern armed conflicts;
• ensuring timely and guaranteed supply of customers with military and dual-use products;
• ensuring the targeted and efficient use of financial resources allocated for the state defense order.
The draft state defense order is reviewed by the State Commission on Armament of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and approved by its decision.
