A powerful explosion at a café in Gulistan has left nearly 30 people injured, three dead, and several in critical condition, according to the Ministry of Health.
The incident occurred on December 2 at 10:49 a.m. local time at a dining outlet in the Taraqqiyot neighborhood of Gulistan. According to the ministry, 29 people sustained burns and other injuries of varying severity. Twenty-six of them were admitted to the Syrdarya regional branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, while three received outpatient treatment and were sent home due to their stable condition.
A team of highly qualified specialists, including burn care experts, anesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, general and microsurgeons, and traumatologists, led by the center’s director Davron Tolaganov, responded to the scene on the same day to provide intensive care.
Tragically, three of the most critically injured patients died. One patient remains in extremely serious condition on a ventilator, while five others in intensive care are classified as stable but serious, breathing independently and conscious.
Two of the admitted patients, both pregnant, were transferred to the Syrdarya branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific-Practical Medical Center for Mother and Child, and their condition is reported as satisfactory. The remaining 15 hospitalized patients are receiving treatment in relevant departments, with their conditions described as stable.
