Families of Gulistan blast victims to receive UZS 100 million each

Families of those who died in the gas cylinder explosion at one of the eateries located in the Buyum Bazaar area of Gulistan’s Taraqqiyot neighborhood will receive UZS 100 million each. President Mirziyoyev announced the decision on 4 December during an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies.

The president expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims. He ordered that financial assistance of UZS 100 million be allocated to each family within three days.

According to the instruction, a team of 10 qualified doctors led by the Director of the Republican Emergency Medical Centre is currently providing free, high-quality medical and psychological care to the injured.

Agencies responsible for the investigation have been tasked with promptly identifying the causes of the tragedy and ensuring full adherence to the law.

It was also noted that this incident should serve as an important lesson for the emergency management system. Officials were told that during the winter season, all responsible bodies must operate in a 24-hour mode to prevent similar accidents.

Earlier reports stated that 29 people were injured in the Gulistan explosion, 26 of whom were hospitalized. Three people died, one person remains in critical condition, and five others are being treated in the intensive care unit.
