Car sales in Uzbekistan up 15 percent year-on-year

In November 2025, total sales of all categories of motor vehicles in Uzbekistan reached 101,100 units, according to analysis by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms. This represents a 6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Regional sales leaders

Among regions, growth in light vehicle sales was led by Tashkent city (+33.7 percent) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+8 percent).

Primary car market

In the primary market, light vehicle sales rose 15 percent year-on-year, approximately 4,400 units more than in November 2024.

Sales of domestically produced new light vehicles totaled about 30,000 units, marking a 13.6 percent annual increase. Meanwhile, sales of imported new light vehicles reached nearly 5,000 units, up 22.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

Secondary car market

In the secondary market, approximately 52,000 used light vehicles were sold in November, down 8 percent year-on-year.

However, in the capital, used car sales surged 1.4 times, with 3,400 more vehicles sold than in November 2024. Additionally, electric vehicle sales in the secondary market grew 1.8 times year-on-year.

By the end of October, sales of all types of motor vehicles nationwide had reached 112,500 units, reflecting increased activity across all major market segments.

Vehicle ownership trends

According to the National Statistics Committee, the number of vehicles owned by individuals in Uzbekistan continues to grow. As of October 1, 2025, there were 4,725,900 registered vehicles belonging to private citizens, with light vehicles accounting for 92.9 percent. This represents an increase of 415,300 vehicles compared to the same period last year.
