Islom Abdurahmonov appointed acting chairman of Uzbekhydroenergo
Following Abdugani Sanginov’s move to head Uzbekneftegaz, the vacant leadership post at Uzbekhydroenergo has been filled by his son, Islom Abdurahmonov.
Islom Abdurahmonov has been appointed acting chairman of the management board of Uzbekhydroenergo.
He is the son of the company’s former head, Abdugani Sanginov.
Abdugani Sanginov, now 66, previously led the Uzsuvenergo association under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources. In May 2017, he was appointed chairman of the management board of Uzbekhydroenergo, which was established on the basis of that association.
On December 17, 2025, it was announced that Bahodir Siddiqov had stepped down as head of Uzbekneftegaz, with Abdugani Sanginov taking over the position.
According to media reports, Islom Abdurahmonov also heads Topalang HPD Holding LLC, the sole founder of the unitary enterprise Topalang HPD Water Construction. He reportedly owns a majority stake of 61.70 percent in the holding.
