Alisher Kodirov urges Uzbeks to leave Russia after Khabarovsk incident, says conditions for migrants are worsening
Alisher Kodirov has called on Uzbek nationals to leave Russia, saying the situation there will “only continue to worsen.” Commenting on the incident in Khabarovsk, he addressed migrant workers directly: “Use your common sense and leave Russia as soon as possible. No income is worth the tears of your parents and children.”
The appeal came in response to reports that OMON officers beat an Uzbek citizen to death in the Russian city of Khabarovsk. Kodirov, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and chairman of the Milliy Tiklanish Party, issued a public statement addressed to compatriots living and working in Russia.
“Believe me, the situation is getting worse month by month,” Kodirov wrote. “Russian special services are viewing Central Asians as potential active participants in possible unrest in Russia, and as a result, any economic benefit they bring is no longer considered worth it.”
He reiterated his warning in stark terms, urging migrants to prioritize their families’ well-being over financial gain. “Use your common sense and leave Russia as soon as possible. No amount of income is worth the tears of your parents and children,” Kodirov said in a post on his Telegram channel.
