Uzbekistan urges citizens in UAE to follow safety guidelines amid regional tensions

Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a set of measures aimed at ensuring the safety of Uzbek citizens in the United Arab Emirates amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement, the ministry addressed Uzbeks currently staying in the UAE, particularly in Dubai, urging them to strictly comply with local laws and follow instructions issued by official authorities.

According to the ministry, citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from crowded areas, and rely solely on official sources of information.

The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai has called on citizens in the city to complete a temporary consular registration form via a designated online link. The registration, the statement noted, is intended to update contact information, determine the approximate number of Uzbek nationals temporarily residing in Dubai, and ensure prompt communication if necessary.

Officials emphasized that the registration process is purely informational in nature and is not related to evacuation procedures.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and its diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our citizens in connection with the escalation of the situation in the Middle East,” the statement said.

Uzbek diplomats also urged compatriots in the UAE to strictly follow the requirements and recommendations of competent authorities and refrain from disseminating unverified information.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry issued recommendations for Uzbek citizens in the Middle East and published emergency contact numbers for diplomatic missions in the region.
