Uzbekistan Airways alerts passengers of new entry requirements for India
Passengers traveling from Uzbekistan to India are advised to prepare for significant changes in entry procedures as the Indian government transitions to a fully digital immigration system. According to a statement released by the press service of Uzbekistan Airways, all foreign citizens entering India must now complete an electronic arrival card (e-Arrival Card) prior to their journey. This new requirement applies to all international arrivals, including those traveling to major hubs such as Delhi and Mumbai.
The digital form must be submitted within 72 hours before arrival in the country. Travelers can access and fill out the e-Arrival Card through the official Indian Visa Service website or by using the Su–Swagatam mobile application. Authorities have confirmed that paper forms will remain valid only until March 31, 2026, after which the digital system will become the sole method for processing arrivals.
Uzbekistan Airways has urged its passengers to ensure they complete the electronic registration well in advance of their flight. Taking this proactive step is essential to avoid unnecessary complications or significant delays during the passport control process upon reaching Indian airports.
This move aligns with India's broader efforts to modernize its border infrastructure and streamline the arrival experience for international visitors. Travelers are encouraged to keep a digital or printed copy of their e-Arrival confirmation to present to immigration officials if requested.
