Fabio Cannavaro names expanded squad as Uzbekistan begins World Cup preparations
The Uzbekistan national football team has officially started its preparations for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026. Head coach Fabio Cannavaro has announced an expanded squad for a training camp scheduled to take place in Tashkent from May 6 to May 26.
The training sessions will be held at the National Football Center, where the coaching staff will focus on tactical discipline and physical conditioning.
As part of the camp, the national team is set to play a series of closed-door friendly matches against various clubs from the Uzbekistan Super League to test different player combinations and strategies.

The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
