Ministry of Foreign Affairs launches mobile app for consular services abroad

Developed to eliminate the need for in-person visits to diplomatic missions, the application features a unified database of all embassies and consular offices of Uzbekistan worldwide. Users can access real-time information regarding exact office locations, up-to-date contact numbers, and operating addresses. The platform also integrates a consular district verification feature, allowing travelers and expatriates to automatically identify which specific diplomatic mission holds jurisdiction over their current country or region of residence.

During its initial rollout phase, the application enables users to manage critical administrative tasks remotely. Citizens can apply directly through their mobile devices for a certificate of return to Uzbekistan – an essential repatriation document – and register for both temporary and permanent consular accounting. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to expand the lineup of digital services sequentially in upcoming updates.

To speed up the administrative process, the platform incorporates advanced digital systems that automate form completion. By syncing with national databases, the application automatically populates approximately 80% of the required information fields in applications and questionnaires. This integration significantly lowers processing times and reduces common data-entry errors for applicants.

Additionally, the application introduces a reference section outlining the specific entry visa requirements imposed by foreign nations on citizens of Uzbekistan. This informational service is currently operating in a test phase and is receiving regular updates as global immigration and travel regulations change.
