Addressing the forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that Central Asia is rapidly transforming into a highly interconnected region that is increasingly open to global markets. In this context, the country is actively advancing the construction of a new railway line in partnership with China and Kyrgyzstan, developing the Trans-Afghan corridor, and expanding the Middle Corridor route via the Caspian Sea.

The state has also partnered with Saudi investors to construct a new Tashkent international airport, which will have the capacity to serve 20 million passengers annually. International firms at the forum were invited to participate in constructing high-speed highways, multifunctional logistics centers, and dry ports across the country.

Urban and regional development stood out as another focal point of the discussions. Attendees were briefed on the construction of the New Tashkent megacity outside the current capital, designed to accommodate two million residents. Furthermore, large-scale development programs have already commenced to transform Andijan, Namangan, and Samarkand into cities with populations exceeding one million people each.

According to the president, Uzbekistan’s domestic residential housing market alone represents a minimum annual value of 10 billion dollars. Looking ahead, the government plans to work alongside international investors to execute public-private partnership infrastructure projects worth a combined total of $27 billion.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded by highlighting the massive untapped potential remaining in the tourism and agribusiness sectors, urging both domestic and foreign investors to take an active role in these regional transformation projects.
