The Ministry of Energy reported that the country's unified power system supplied 301.9 million kWh of electricity to consumers on July 20. That was 7.5 million kWh, or 2.5%, higher than the previous record set on July 18 and 29.3 million kWh, or 10.75%, above last year's peak level.
Electricity generation, excluding output from small-scale solar power plants, also reached a record 305.4 million kWh, up 8.3 million kWh, or 2.8%, from the previous high recorded last week.
The unified power system registered its highest load at 5:22 p.m., when demand reached 14.2 GW.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the record figures reflect exceptionally high electricity demand caused by the unusually hot weather.
The ministry also acknowledged several disruptions to Tashkent's electricity network during the day.
It said dispatch centers continuously monitor power grid loads as well as the condition of transmission lines and transformers in real time. When necessary, electricity loads are redistributed to prevent equipment overheating, technical failures and large-scale outages.
