According to the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, a pre-investigation inquiry found that officials from Hududgazta'minot JSC, employees of Texnopark LLC and other individuals allegedly conspired to misappropriate budget funds under the guise of providing technical maintenance for electronic gas meters.
Investigators allege that the suspects embezzled or misappropriated UZS 19 billion allocated for the work.
The inquiry also found that 273 gas meters manufactured by Texnopark LLC and installed for consumers by Hududgazta'minot JSC recorded gas consumption below actual levels. As a result, the state and public interests allegedly suffered losses estimated at UZS 861.1 million.
A criminal case has been opened under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Investigative actions are currently underway.
