Lazare Eloundou Assomo once again congratulated Uzbekistan on the inscription of the serial property “Tashkent Modernist Architecture” on the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 26, a decision adopted at the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in Busan.
The Centre’s Director noted that the historic event reflects the international community’s recognition of Uzbekistan’s comprehensive efforts to protect and preserve the country’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
The parties focused in particular on joint projects to restore the Poi Kalyan architectural complex and establish an open-air archaeological museum at Shahristan, reviewing the findings of international experts who conducted missions in Bukhara in May and June this year and the next steps for implementing the projects.
