According to the State Assets Management Agency, the properties included buildings belonging to the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Sport, Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Tourist Services Center under the Tourism Committee, the Committee for Roads, the Committee for the Development of Sericulture and Wool Industry, and the Agency for Public Services.
Another 11 properties have been put up for auction with a combined starting price of UZS 1.0958 trillion, while preparations are underway to sell 20 more properties.
Auctions are also being held for buildings belonging to the State Assets Management Agency, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, the Agency for Technical Regulation, the Ministry of Water Resources and organizations under their respective systems.
The sales are being carried out under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 146, adopted on March 7, 2025. The resolution provides for ministries, agencies and their affiliated organizations to relocate to New Tashkent, where 150 state bodies and organizations with state participation are to be accommodated.
It also calls for 83 properties belonging to these institutions in Tashkent to be sold through open auctions, including through the sale of lease rights.
The authorities said the process has already begun for more than half of the 83 properties designated for sale. Seven buildings have been transferred to new owners, while another 31 properties are at various stages of preparation or sale.
The State Assets Management Agency said the property sales are being carried out alongside the development of new administrative infrastructure in New Tashkent.
“Funds received from the sale of the properties will be directed directly toward creating this infrastructure,” the agency said. “Thus, the relocation of ministries and agencies to New Tashkent is being financed, among other sources, by proceeds from the sale of state assets being vacated.”
