The bureau denied reports circulating on social media that compensation payments had been suspended.

Enforcement proceedings are currently underway based on court-issued documents to recover UZS 78 billion in damages from Sardor Kariyev and other debtors in favor of 85 victims.

To secure the recovery of the funds, residential properties belonging to Kariyev in Chilanzar district and a non-residential building on Furqat Street in the Beshyogoch neighborhood were seized and put up for online auction.

The non-residential building on Furqat Street was sold for UZS 793 million. Auction proceedings for the residential properties in Chilanzar district, which have been valued at UZS 7.1 billion, are still ongoing.

A total of UZS 16.7 billion has so far been transferred to the victims from the proceeds of the auction and payments made by Kariyev’s family members. The funds were distributed equally among the victims.

Compulsory enforcement measures are continuing to recover the remaining UZS 61.3 billion in damages from Kariyev and the other debtors.

The Doc-1 Max case stems from the deaths of 68 children after consuming the Doc-1 Max syrup. The head of the company that imported the medicine into Uzbekistan and the former head of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry were sentenced to 18–20 years in prison.
