Uzbekneftegaz Board Chairman becomes President of Tashkent’s Bunyodkor FC

The Tashkent football club Bunyodkor, which is preparing for the upcoming Super League season, has undergone a change of leadership, Tribuna reports.

“The main sponsor of the team – Board Chairman of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Mehriddin Abdullayev has been appointed President of the club,” the report reads.

“On behalf of the management, footballers, coaches and staff of the club, we express our deep gratitude to Ulugbek Ashurov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, who since 2017 served as President of the football club supporting our team all the time,” the club said.

The club is confident that under the leadership of Abdullayev, the team will again fight for the championship and regularly play in the Asian Champions League.
