Kazakhstan appoints new Prime Minister
The deputies of the Kazakh parliament at a plenary session with the participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev approved the candidacy of Askar Mamin for the post of new head of government, Akorda reports.
“Deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament approved Askar Mamin’s candidacy for the post of Prime Minister,” the message reads.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has already signed the corresponding decree.
It should be noted that on February 21, President Nazarbayev proposed that the government, headed by Bakytzhan Sagintayev, resign. On the same day Askar Mamin was appointed interim Prime Minister.
Askar Mamin was born on October 23, 1965 in Tselinograd. Previously, he served as akim of Astana, Minister of Transport and Communications, from September 2016 - First Deputy Prime Minister.
