Uzbekistan, China create a JV to realize “Safe city” project in Tashkent
Uzbekistan and China have created a joint venture which will be engaged in the construction and maintenance of the “Safe city” complex in Tashkent, the press service of Ministry of Information reports.
The corresponding agreement was signed on June 20. The Center for assistance to public order “Safe city” of the ministry, as well as CITIC Group and COSTAR Group became the founders.
Foreign direct investment in the amount of $300 million is attracted to the project, solutions of the Chinese company Huawei will be used.
At the end of 2018, PWC won the tender for development of the project documentation for the “Safe city”. The company will also prepare project and other documentation as part of the project in Tashkent.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan hopes to attract Siemens investments to launch a pilot “Safe city” project in Samarkand.
