Requirements for driving vehicles by close relatives without a power of attorney announced
In accordance with the presidential decree signed on October 1, close relatives are given the right to drive a car without a power of attorney.
On October 17, a press conference was held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications at the initiative of the Interior Ministry of the Republic.
During the press conference, answers were provided to the question about the requirements for driving a car by close relatives without a power of attorney.
“In the presidential decree signed on October 1, close relatives are given the right to drive a car without a power of attorney. But by-laws have not yet been adopted. Drafts of relevant legal documents have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.
I think that soon the project will be approved and enter into force. At present, if the surnames and names of close relatives are indicated in the insurance policy, or if the policy is unlimited (by the number of drivers), then citizens can drive a car without a power of attorney,” Kun.uz correspondent quotes Akmal Yunusov, head of the press service of the Main Traffic Safety Directorate of the Interior Ministry as saying.
For information, in accordance with the presidential decree “On measures to fundamentally reform the notary system in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, from October 1 of this year, the procedure for mandatory notarization of a power of attorney for the right to use and drive vehicles between close relatives (parents, husband (wife), children, brothers, sisters) of the vehicle owner is canceled.
