The editorial office received a video of the dismissed school director starting a fight at one of the meetings held by the regional governor, Ulugbek Kosimov. “You did what you wanted at school, no one said a word, will I be punished?” – she said in an argument with the governor.
Kun.uz has received a video of Ulugbek Kosimov’s arguing with Umida Tursunova, the director of the school in the Sariosiyo district of the region, at one of the meetings held by the governor of Surkhandarya region. According to the editorial source, the scandalous situation occurred on July 26 at school No. 12 in the Sariosiyo district during a videoconference meeting dedicated to the preparation of secondary schools for the 2023-2024 academic year.
The director asked the governor for what reason she was being fired and said the following:
“How do you know what happened here? You say: “You have spoiled the environment”, what kind of environment has been spoiled here? They are selling the school property... There is no one to study the situation, they all speak the same language,” Umida Tursunova said.
During the dispute, the former director told the governor that if he had a gun, he would shoot him, that the situation in the school was being organized, and the regional governor was being given wrong information.
“Correct information should be provided to the regional governor. I was fired. What am I doing? You did whatever you wanted at school, nobody bothered?! Will I be punished? Why do I go out? I will stand here and listen until the end, and then I have something to say to the President. If he shoots me, let him take me to the people of Uzbekistan and shoot,” she said at the end of the argument.
After that, the former director was taken out of the meeting hall by employees of the internal affairs body. While leaving the assembly hall, Umida Tursunova said to regional governor Ulugbek Kosimov: “Shame on the regional governor like you”.
For information: Umida Tursunova, who worked as the director of the 28th school in Sariosiyo district, after being dismissed several times, restored her rights through the court and returned to her duties. She managed to become somewhat “famous” on social networks.
During her career, the director was given a disciplinary punishment due to her cold-hearted approach to her duties in accordance with Article 38 of the law “On appeals of citizens and legal entities”.
In November 2021, a group of teachers of the school sent a complaint against the director to the Surkhandarya Regional Public Education Department.
Later, when the situation was discussed on social networks, journalists went to this school to investigate the situation. Umida Tursunova damaged the cameras of media representatives and drove them away.
After that, Umida Tursunova was dismissed from the position of the school director. She was reinstated in February 2022 by the order of the regional public education department.
However, teachers of the school expressed their displeasure with this and requested that Umida Tursunova not carry out the activities of the director.
After objections, in March 2022, Umida Tursunova was released from this position, and Imamkul Saidov replaced her. However, Umida Tursunova was reinstated through the court.
According to unconfirmed information, Umida Tursunova was arrested after a scandal broke out at the videoconference meeting with the participation of the regional governor, and the period during which she was the director of the school is being re-examined.
