Heads of healthcare department of four regions fired, chiefs of a number of medical associations dismissed

At the board meeting held on August 8 dedicated to the results of the first half of the year 2023 of the Health Ministry, measures were taken against the heads of the healthcare department of four regions, and the heads of several medical associations were relieved of their posts.

It was reported at the meeting chaired by the Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov that none of the planned 10 family doctor points in Tashkent region, 9 in Kashkadarya, and 5 in Syrdarya were established.

Samarkand, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Navoi and Khorezm regions have been lax in establishing new family polyclinics.

According to the Health Ministry press service, during the studies, the minister criticized that the mechanism of implementation of preventive examinations and screening programs by the regional healthcare departments was not fully explained to the medical workers at places and the process was not systematically controlled, the network plans were drawn up incorrectly, and their execution was not carried out at the required level.

Based on this, several employees were relieved of their posts at the meeting for not organizing treatment and prevention work at the required level, for weakening control over the organization of the activities of medical brigades, for the deterioration of the indicators of the reproductive health of the population.

Current problems in the ambulance service were also discussed in detail at the board meeting.

In the ongoing meeting in a critical and analytical spirit, the performance of appeals received by healthcare organizations in the first half of this year was analyzed.

"As our President said, the population will evaluate our work. The value of our people is reflected in the appeals to the medical system. They are a mirror for us," the minister said.

During the 6 months of 2023, the Ministry of Health received a total of 39,376 applications, which is a decrease of 5,000 or 12% compared to the corresponding period of 2022. Despite this, officials were found to be slow in dealing with residents' appeals in the region.

Also, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for maternal and child issues (A. Askarov), Andijan (G. Kayumova), Jizzakh (G. Haydarova), Navoi (O. Azamova), Sirdaryo (F. Mavlanov), Surkhondaryo (A. Abdullayev) regions' deputy heads of healthcare departments for maternity and childhood issues were severely disciplined.
