Uzbekistan celebrating World Car-Free Day today
The main goal of the event is to reduce air pollution by toxic gases emitted by cars, as well as widespread promotion of walking and cycling, and popularization of a healthy lifestyle among the population.
The holding of “Car-Free Day” is provided for by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of November 19, 2020 “On additional measures to support a healthy lifestyle and increase physical activity of the population”.
The main goal of this event is to reduce air pollution by various toxic gases emitted by cars, as well as widespread promotion of walking and cycling, which, in turn, serves to popularize a healthy lifestyle among the population.
The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change calls on everyone not to remain indifferent to World Car-Free Day and to use less harmful vehicles for the atmosphere, such as public transport, metro, and bicycles, instead of personal cars.
