Uzbekistan plans to conduct electronic census of population in November
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the population census in the republic is planned to be carried out from November 1 to 25 of this year.
The Statistics Agency noted that in order to thoroughly prepare for the population census, all regulatory and methodological documents in the field, as well as forms of registration questionnaires, were developed, a special website for the population census was introduced, a logo and motto of the event “Be part of the New Uzbekistan!” were prepared, and the information system “Census” was developed.
Also, maps of all neighborhoods of the republic have been updated, and a list of residential and non-residential premises has been compiled.
It is noted that during test census processes, which were carried out in three different ways: online, tablet and paper registration – from November 1 to November 25, 2021, it became known that the census using the tablet method was more convenient, faster and cost-effective than the paper method.
Therefore, based on the test results and the experience of advanced countries, it is planned to abandon the paper registration method and carry it out via the Internet and using tablet devices.
