Anti-Corruption Agency received more education-related appeals in 2023

In 2023, the Anti-Corruption Agency received the most appeals regarding the actions of employees of the education sector and cases of violations of the law in the field. Sherzod Saparov, head of the Agency’s information service, informed about this at an AIMC briefing.

In 2023, the Agency received a total of 3,545 appeals, the largest number of which, i.e. 511, related to the actions of employees in the education sector and violations of the law in the field, 406 complaints against court decisions, 301 complaints regarding violations of the law in the process of public procurement and tenders is considered

The Agency sent 225 submissions to the ministries and agencies regarding the elimination of violations of the law, and 227 questionnaires to the law enforcement agencies to resolve the issue of responsibility.

Based on the sent questionnaires, 23 criminal cases and 96 administrative cases were initiated by the law enforcement agencies under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, 74 persons were brought to disciplinary liability.

It is noted that after the administrative reforms implemented in 2023, internal anti-corruption control structures were established in 90 state bodies and organizations, including banks.
