Taxi driver sentenced to 5-day imprisonment for molesting a minor girl in Tashkent
In Tashkent, a taxi driver who attempted to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl was imprisoned for 5 days.
A 22-year-old taxi driver who sexually assaulted a minor girl in Tashkent was imprisoned for 5 days. Gazeta.uz studied the document of the court decision.
On March 12, 2024, an open court was held in the Mirabad district court of Tashkent city regarding the offense of sexual harassment.
According to the document, the victim’s mother testified at the court hearing that on March 9, 2024, she called a taxi for her minor daughter to go home. On the way, the driver M.G. asked the girl various questions and during the conversation asked her name and who called the taxi. The girl told the driver that she was only 15 years old, but he did not stop making sexually suggestive comments about how beautiful she was.
M.G., in his testimony at the court, fully confessed his guilt, promised that such a situation shall not be repeated again, he made his own conclusion, and asked for relief against him.
The court found M.G. guilty of committing the offense envisaged in Article 41-1, part 1 (sexual profanity) of the Administrative Responsibility Code, and sentenced him to 5-day administrative imprisonment.
Earlier, in Tashkent, another taxi driver who molested a female passenger was imprisoned for 5 days.
