Procedure for schoolchildren’s temporary travel abroad may change
According to the draft document submitted for discussion, the school principal’s consent will be required before a student travels to a foreign country.
The discussion portal contains a draft order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education “On introducing amendments and additions to the order “On approving the regulations on the procedure for transferring students from class to class and from one general education institution of secondary general education to another””.
According to the project, parents contact the school director with an application (during the school year) indicating the reasons for traveling abroad with their child and the period of stay abroad.
The application is considered by the school director (acting director during the director’s absence) within one working day and an order is made to notify the class teacher and subject teachers that the student is temporarily leaving abroad.
The school director warns in writing the student’s parents, the mahalla chairman at the place of residence, the relevant district (city) department of preschool and school education and the district (city) commission for children’s affairs and takes measures to involve him in classroom activities in the following cases:
• if students who have temporarily left the country do not attend classes without notifying the school within a week about the extension of their stay abroad;
• if parents do not submit an application addressed to the school director indicating the reasons for going abroad with the child and the length of stay abroad.
The school director annually, before May 25, submits to the district (city) commission for children's affairs information about students who traveled abroad during the school year without notifying the school and did not attend classes for at least three months (excluding students who attended classes before the end of the school year).
These students will be excluded from the list of students with the consent of the district (city) commission for children’s affairs.
