University admissions 2024: Significant drop as 894,279 applicants register
For the 2024–2025 academic year, 894,279 applicants registered to participate in entrance exams for higher and professional educational institutions. This is significantly less than in previous years.

June 26 was the last day to submit documents to higher and professional educational institutions. The Agency for the Assessment of Knowledge and Skills announced that 894,279 applicants had submitted documents for exams for the new academic year.
The number of applicants by region:
Republic of Karakalpakstan - 45,655 applicants;
Andijan region - 67,688 applicants;
Bukhara region - 45,583 applicants;
Fergana region - 83,837 applicants;
Sokh district - 1,962 applicants;
Jizzakh region - 48,276 applicants;
Namangan region - 58,268 applicants;
Navoi region - 48,437 applicants;
Kashkadarya region - 89,188 applicants;
Samarkand region - 93,092 applicants;
Syrdarya region - 30,074 applicants;
Surkhandarya region (Termez city) - 39,498 applicants;
Surkhandarya region (Denov district) - 22,756 applicants;
Tashkent city - 161,369 applicants;
Khorezm region - 58,596 applicants.
The number of applicants by current and previous years' graduates:
Current year graduates - 410,334 applicants;
Previous years' graduates - 483,945 applicants.
The number of applicants by gender:
Men - 431,806 applicants;
Women - 462,473 applicants.
The number of applicants by language of instruction:
Uzbek language - 784,458 applicants;
Russian language - 84,774 applicants;
Karakalpak language - 22,534 applicants;
Other languages - 2,513 applicants.
The Agency reminded that the payment for participation in the entrance exams must be made by June 26 at 23:59, and therefore, the numbers may change after the payment deadline.
For information, 1,018,000 applicants submitted documents for the 2023/24 academic year, and 1,214,000 applicants for the 2022/23 academic year.
