Baby abandoned shortly after birth found alive in Tashkent; police launch investigation
A newborn baby was found abandoned on a street in Tashkent, according to a report by the Public Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

At approximately 7:30 AM on January 15, 2024, a bag left on the roadside caught the attention of a resident of the Zarbdor neighborhood in the Yangihayot district.
Initially, the bag appeared to move, and then the sound of a baby crying could be heard from inside. Upon checking the bag, the resident discovered a newborn.
According to a report on the “Zamon” news program, the resident immediately called the police at 102. Officers who arrived at the scene examined the baby and transported them to the hospital, where the necessary medical care was provided.
A paramedic who assessed the baby stated that it had been born approximately an hour earlier. The umbilical cord was cut in an unusual manner. The baby is currently in stable condition.
The Yangihayot District Department of Internal Affairs has launched a pre-investigation inquiry into the incident.
