Shavkat Mirziyoyev awards Dustlik Order to International Judo Federation President
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer on February 27 during the prestigious "Grand Slam" tournament. In recognition of Vizer’s contributions to the sport’s development in Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev awarded him the Dustlik (Friendship) Order, according to the president’s press service.
The parties reviewed the expansion of effective cooperation in developing the judo school in Uzbekistan and popularizing this martial art.
Marius Vizer highly praised Uzbekistan’s efforts in promoting a healthy lifestyle, supporting all types of sports, actively involving young people — especially girls — in sports, and developing modern sports infrastructure.
During the meeting, special attention was given to expanding the federation’s technical assistance and expert support in training athletes, coaches, and referees, as well as implementing an effective mechanism for talent selection.
Additionally, a proposal was made to regularly hold international judo competitions in different regions of Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Marius Vizer the Dustlik (Friendship) Order for his significant personal contribution to the development of Uzbekistan's national judo school.
