According to the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan, a partnership agreement has been signed with Vision International Investment Company (VIIC) from Saudi Arabia and Suez International from France.
The agreement outlines joint efforts to develop and implement a promising project for managing hazardous industrial waste. The project is valued at $78 million and will be carried out in three phases:
- Phase One: Establishment of facilities for stabilizing waste, landfilling complexes, and regional transfer stations.
- Phase Two: Development of a pre-engineering design for equipment to produce refuse-derived fuel (RDF), incineration facilities, and a thermal treatment plant, followed by pilot testing.
- Phase Three: Construction and commissioning of a full-scale RDF production and thermal treatment facility.
Suez International is a French company with over 160 years of experience, specializing in water and waste management. It provides global solutions for water supply and purification, wastewater management, and waste recycling — including the handling of hazardous waste. The company serves a wide range of industries across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.
Vision International Investment Company (VIIC), established in 2002 in Saudi Arabia, is a major investment holding managing approximately $96 billion in assets. Its activities span energy, infrastructure, utilities, water resource management, electricity generation, consulting, and public-private partnership projects.
