Malaysia’s AirAsia to launch direct flights to Tashkent
Starting 14 November, leading Malaysian low-cost airline AirAsia will begin operating regular direct flights on the Kuala Lumpur – Tashkent – Kuala Lumpur route, according to the Tourism Committee.
The inaugural event dedicated to the launch of the new route was attended by Umid Shodiev, Chair of the Tourism Committee; Ilham Tuah bin Illias, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan; and senior officials from AirAsia.
According to the committee, the introduction of this route is expected to boost the number of tourists coming to Uzbekistan from Southeast Asian countries, particularly Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
AirAsia is one of the largest airlines in Southeast Asia, operating flights to 136 international destinations across 258 routes.
