During the conference, a financial contract was signed for the construction of 220–500 kV transmission lines and substations in Afghanistan, officially launching the project.
The projects are scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2027 and are expected to further strengthen energy cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Uzbekistan has also confirmed its readiness to expand cooperation in other areas, including the modernization of distribution networks across Afghanistan, the introduction of smart metering systems, improving efficiency and transparency in the sector, and supporting reliable energy supply through technical expertise.
