Rare 8th-century manuscript and coins unearthed in Namangan
The collection of the “New Akhsikent” complex, part of the Akhsikent Archaeological Park, has been enriched with 68 new coins and 27 books, the press service of the Namangan regional administration reported.
According to the information, the discoveries include silver coins from the Abbasid period in the 8th century, as well as a rare manuscript written in Arabic. The manuscript contains knowledge in geometry, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine.

The collection has also been expanded with coins minted during the Samanid and Karakhanid periods, as well as pieces struck in Sweden between 1667–1670 and in Great Britain in 1836.

Meanwhile, the Akhsikent comprehensive expedition continues excavations in the Yakkayigit Garden, which once served as the residence of Umarshaykh Mirzo.
