Car production in Uzbekistan up 9.2 percent despite fall in popular models
Production of Uzbekistan’s most popular car model – Cobalt – continued to fall for the fifth month in a row compared to the same periods of 2024. In August, output dropped by 8.4 percent. Significant decreases were also recorded in the production of Onix and Damas models.

According to the National Statistics Committee, a total of 284,352 passenger cars were produced in Uzbekistan between January and August 2025.
Overall, vehicle production in the first eight months rose by 9.2 percent compared to the same period in 2024. Cobalt and Damas together accounted for 55 out of every 100 cars manufactured in the country.
During the reporting period, Damas production decreased by 2.8 percent, Cobalt by 3 percent, and Onix by 6.3 percent. Production of all other models grew significantly.
In particular, Cobalt output showed consecutive declines compared to 2024: down 6 percent in April, 10.6 percent in May, 7.84 percent in June, 14.7 percent in July, and 8.4 percent in August.
Meanwhile, production of the Tracker increased by 9 percent, Cherry models by 13.8 percent, Kia models by 34 percent, and Haval vehicles by 3.8 times.
For reference, in the first half of the year, UzAuto Motors’ net profit fell from UZS 1.91 trillion to UZS 1.38 trillion – a decrease of 27.5 percent.
