Saida Mirziyoyeva holds talks with Al-Azhar Grand Imam to discuss religious and educational cooperation
Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva has met in Cairo with the Grand Imam of Egypt and head of the Al-Azhar complex, Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the fields of spirituality, education, and science.

During the meeting, Saida Mirziyoyeva conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Al-Azhar leader. She said the talks focused on deepening ties between Uzbekistan and Egypt in education, religious enlightenment, and academic exchange.
Particular attention was given to the importance of promoting the values of enlightened Islam and expanding cooperation to protect young people from radicalization. Both sides emphasized that joint efforts in this area are increasingly vital amid global security and ideological challenges.
The meeting also highlighted mutual interest in developing joint educational programs, expanding academic exchange initiatives, and intensifying cooperation in the study of historical manuscripts. Saida Mirziyoyeva later shared details of the talks on her official platform, underlining the importance of sustained dialogue between the two countries.
The Al-Azhar complex, one of the world’s most influential centers of Islamic learning, plays a key role in promoting moderate religious education and interfaith dialogue across the Muslim world.
