On January 13, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held an expanded meeting of the Security Council and announced new benefits for conscripted servicemen.

The president addressed the introduction of modern technologies in the defense sector. Starting this year, alongside tournaments in kurash, hand-to-hand combat, weightlifting, and other traditional sports, competitions will also be held in esports, unmanned aerial vehicle operation, and robotics.
“The army of Uzbekistan must always be mobile, high-tech, adapted to new combat conditions, and ready to defend the people,” the president said.

Mirziyoyev called for special attention to be paid to equipping the troops with unmanned systems using artificial intelligence, robotic complexes, and light equipment. He also identified the introduction of digital technologies and AI in the defense industry as a priority.
In addition, cybersecurity and strengthening the resilience of the national digital infrastructure were highlighted among key tasks. Responsible officials have been instructed to define measures to protect personal data and digital systems.

In November 2024, the president ordered the reorganization of the teaching of basic pre-conscription training in schools. The document provided for organizing competitions for senior students in esports, robotics, UAV operation, as well as so-called “games of the future.”
