Uzbekistan urges citizens to postpone all non-essential travel to the Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has issued an official recommendation for citizens to temporarily refrain from traveling to Middle Eastern countries. The advisory applies to all travel purposes, including tourism and business, until the security situation in the region stabilizes.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s notification, the escalating situation in the Middle East has prompted several nations to impose temporary restrictions on the use of their airspace. These measures have led to significant disruptions in international air communication, affecting flight schedules globally.
The Ministry noted that the current instability has already created numerous challenges for travelers from various countries, including citizens of Uzbekistan. Specific issues reported include:
- Frequent cancellations and rescheduling of commercial flights.
- Forced changes to established transit routes.
- Complex organizational and logistical hurdles for passengers.
"In this regard, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and protect their interests, it is recommended to temporarily postpone trips to Middle Eastern countries for tourism, business, and other purposes until the current situation stabilizes," the official statement reads.
For Uzbekistani nationals currently residing in or visiting the region, the Ministry has issued the following safety protocols:
- Maintain calm and exercise increased vigilance at all times.
- Avoid crowded areas and mass gatherings.
- Strictly comply with the local laws and regulations of the host country.
- Maintain constant contact with the nearest diplomatic missions or consular offices of Uzbekistan.
The Ministry emphasized that when planning any future travel, citizens must prioritize precautionary measures and rely solely on information published by official government sources.
