Shavkat Mirziyoyev honors 167 cultural and art figures with state awards
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted a solemn ceremony at the International Congress Center in Tashkent to present high state awards, orders, and titles to prominent representatives of Uzbek culture, art, and literature.
Addressing the attendees, the president congratulated the recipients and emphasized the foundational role that creative fields play in driving national development and elevating Uzbekistan's international standing. He noted that the global influence of a nation is intrinsically tied to the strength of its creative output, stating that the voice of a country with a rich literature, moving music, meaningful theater, inspiring cinema, and captivating art will always carry weight on the world stage.
This year, state honors were conferred upon 167 cultural figures. The diverse group of recipients spanned various disciplines, including writers, poets, vocalists, musicians, composers, theater and cinema professionals, dancers, circus performers, traditional bakhshi folklore singers, masters of askiya wit, painters, artisans, as well as dedicated staff from museums, libraries, cultural heritage preservation institutions, and arts educators.
The president also paid tribute to the lasting legacy of creative professionals who have passed away. In a poignant segment of the ceremony, state awards were posthumously bestowed upon 24 distinguished representatives of the creative intelligentsia.
Mirziyoyev remarked that fully recognizing the contributions of citizens, even after their passing, remains a moral obligation for the state. He added that this gesture aligns closely with the spiritual and cultural values of the people of Uzbekistan, who deeply revere the memory of their ancestors.
Concluding the event, the president personally presented the medals and orders to the laureates, expressing his confidence that this official recognition of their dedication would inspire further achievements and enrich the country's cultural landscape.
