Malaysia expresses readiness to strengthen trade-economic and investment ties with Uzbekistan
On November 12, 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kuala Lumpur Ravshan Usmanov met with the newly appointed head of the Department for Cooperation with South and Central Asian Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Azhar bin Mazlan.
During the conversation, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for the further development of Uzbekistan-Malaysia cooperation were discussed.
The Malaysian side positively assessed the outcome of the 4th round of inter-MFA consultations held on September 12 in Tashkent and the visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia Marzuki Yahya to Uzbekistan on October 18-21.
The parties confirmed mutual interest in realizing the significant potential for expanding cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to the issues of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation.
